9–12 Science Instructor
Job Description:
Valley R-VI School District is currently seeking qualified candidates for a 9th–12th grade science instructor position for the upcoming school year. This position is a full-time, salaried position. Interested part-time applicants will be considered as well. The Valley R-VI School District will be going to a four-day school week starting the 2024–2025 school year.
Reports To:
The 9–12 science instructor reports directly to the junior high/high school principal while working under the authority of the district superintendent.
Qualifications:
Education:
A bachelor degree is preferred.
Certification/License:
Appropriate DESE certification
Certification in 9–12 science and chemistry preferred
Work Experience:
Previous teaching experience preferred.
9–12 science and chemistry experience is preferable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Able to promote the district mission and a positive image of Valley R-VI Schools to students, staff, parents, and the public,
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff, and parents.
Ability to collaborate and work as a team with other staff within the building and district.
Background in 9–12 science and chemistry and/or science related areas.
Takes initiative, detail-oriented, and is highly organized.
Essential Duties:
Develops and instructs the 9–12 science and chemistry education curriculum compliant with state guidelines and for the betterment of the students.
Responsible for the supervision and safety of students and staff while working in the district.
Develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
Promotes mathematics educational opportunities with students, parents, and community.
Communicates and assists students with post secondary opportunities.
Perform such other tasks and assumes such other responsibility as assigned by supervisors.

Substitute Custodial and Cook Positions Posting
Valley R-VI School District is desperately in need of substitute custodians and cooks. This entails covering a normal day’s duties of a custodian or school cook. This position reports directly to the director of maintenance or head cook but also works under the authority of building administration and the superintendent.
