Volunteering

At Valley, we know that true education is a cooperative effort. Together we can accomplish so much more! We would like to welcome your involvement at our schools. You can get involved several different ways: through volunteering, supporting our fundraising efforts, and letting your voice be heard at our board meetings or through EPAT.

Volunteering

Someone once said, “Volunteering is the ultimate exercise in democracy. You vote in elections once a year, but when you volunteer, you vote every day about the kind of community you want to live in.” From simple high fives and smiles to reading with students, our volunteers truly change the atmosphere at school. And we thank them for it!

If you are interested in joining our pool of Valley volunteers, please contact a school administrator. To ensure our students’ safety, all volunteers must be district approved to work within our classrooms. This is a simple process of filing your contact information with the district and having a background check completed. We look forward to hearing from you!

EPAT

Our Elementary Parents and Teachers organization is always on the lookout for more support. EPAT raises money throughout the year to supplement our elementary children’s education with field trips and student activities.

These are some of the events made possible by EPAT last year:

  • Kindergarten: Pumpkin Patch, Parkland Gymnastics, and Engler Park
  • First Grade: Pumpkin Patch and Critter Lane
  • Second Grade: Pumpkin Patch and STL Zoo
  • Third Grade: Pumpkin Patch and Meramec Caverns
  • Fourth Grade: Pumpkin Patch and STL Aquarium
  • Fifth Grade: Pumpkin Patch and Busch Stadium
  • Sixth Grade: Pumpkin Patch and Sky Zone

We meet the second Thursday of every month in the elementary library. We have activities for all of the children who attend with a parent or guardian. We'd love to have your input at our monthly meetings for fundraisers, activities, and ways we can better serve our elementary students. Please join us!
